Switch Off Campaign

25th November 2016

This week we have been taking part in the big Switch Off campaign run by EDF energy. This has been a great opportunity for our children to learn more about how we use energy and to find out why it is important to use it more efficiently! Pupils in each class have taken turns at being our Eco monitors and have ensured that lights, computer monitors and smart boards were switched off when our classrooms were empty. Yesterday we took this one step further when our Eco Council challenged us to have a whole 'switch off' afternoon. We enjoyed lessons without relying on computers and smart boards! Mr Brennan has kindly taken a reading of our electricity meter this week so we can compare this to a normal week in school. Fingers crossed that our efforts have saved some energy!
