Reception News

1st April 2019
Great work Reception. We have loved thinking about Katharine B’s and Paige C's Focus Week choices of cats, ponies, birthday parties and princesses. The girls have loved baking, making party/princess hats, writing cards and choosing party games. Well done for all your enthusiasm girls! In Literacy, remaining on the theme of cats, Reception have used ‘Mog’ stories to write simple sentences, cards and lists etc. In Numeracy the children have been thinking about ‘one less than’ and simple subtraction. Mrs Pemberton and Miss Westgarth have started ‘Numeracy Challenges’ on Tapestry. Thank you to all the parents and children contributing to these! Thank you so much also to Marley's Grandma who volunteered her time to paint observational pictures of spring flowers with the children. Thank you- Reception really love to paint! Next Thursday Reception will be joining with Nursery to complete lots of Easter crafts. We are very excited. Reception children have also been busy singing in preparation for our visit to St Nicholas' Church in Cramlington, next Tuesday 2nd of April at 9.30am. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to accompany uswe hope to see lots of friends and families at the Church. Well done for all the hard work this week. Keep reading school reading books at home at least four times weekly Reception. We’re proud of you!
