Reception News

22nd June 2018
What a super busy week in Reception this week! Both classes have been working hard to practice their number work. We have been doubling and halving, counting backwards and working hard on one more than, one less than. We have also been reading Little Red Riding Hood and continue to working hard on our sentence writing and story re-telling. Super work Reception - well done! For Tia A.'s focus week, we have enjoyed unicorn stories, crafting, baking and making play dough. Both classes have enjoyed yoga sessions with Debbie and we loved learning Spanish and Indian dances for International week. What a fabulous and busy week! We look forward to welcoming parents and carers to our Year One transition meeting on Tuesday 26th June at 9am in our hall. The children have been working hard to prepare a little treat for you - with an international twist! Well done to both classes this week who earned their SUPER CLASS treats too. The Explorers enjoyed a teddy bears picnic and the Discoverers loved some big climbing on the KS2 yard and some refreshing ice lollies. Really well done to both classes for working so hard! Thank you to both Elliot and Elle’s mums who both volunteered to help in Reception this week and were busy helping us make crafts for the school fair on Tuesday the 26th of June. Look forward to seeing you all there. If any parents are available to volunteer some time in Reception- it would be very much appreciated during this last busy half term. Please let a member of Reception staff know if you might be available. Lastly, if you have not done so yet, please return your trip consent form and money for our end of year trip. We will be in touch with news of parent helpers for the trip as soon as possible.
