UPDATE Mon 4th Jan

4th January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

To confirm, following yesterday's newsletter, that school will be open to all pupils from tomorrow (Tuesday 4th January 2021). As part of our ongoing review of our current systems which I mentioned in the newsletter, we would appreciate your help with two additional areas in our efforts to support the safety of our pupils, staff and you as parents/carers:

  • From Tuesday 5th January, please would it be possible for the adult who drops off/collects your child/children to wear a face covering whilst on the yard. Children do not need to wear face coverings.
  • To reduce extra items coming into school; starting this Wednesday (6th January 2021), we are allocating a day each week for classes for PE and forest school. On the allocated day, children will come into school in their PE kit which they will wear through the day. We will send out a list of the day allocated to your child on Tuesday. This will minimise the need for changing in school and also hopefully help you as parents as the PE kit will come home each time it is used for washing. Now that we are in the colder months, please would children be able to wear on their PE day:
    • Plain black tracksuit bottoms, plain black leggings or black shorts
    • Either their plain black PE hoody/sweatshirt or their normal red school sweatshirt. Please wear their normal plain white PE T-shirt under this.
    • Trainers on their feet (for our younger children in Reception, Y1 and Y2, please also have plimsolls in their bag each day).
  • Wearing the PE kit on PE days will start on Wednesday of this week (6th January) with Year 3 and Year 4. We will send out a list of days of the week tomorrow for all the year groups.
  • We have updated our online learning (in case this is needed at any point). Reception and Year 1 will use Tapestry as their core online tool with Google classroom being used in Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. We will send out reminders about how to access these during this week.

All our safety systems aim to help support the safety of our children, staff and parents. We are so very grateful for your ongoing help and support with this and will send a more detailed update during this week.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming your child back to school after the Christmas and New Year break.

Many thanks,

Paul Rusby
